Our story

Chelvon Lanka was started by a small team of people who had spent their lives on Sri Lanka’s roads, temples, tea estates, and shorelines — and grew tired of seeing the country reduced to seven-day hotel chains and rushed itineraries.

We don’t operate a fleet. We don’t sell packages. Each journey is shaped by hand, by people who treat the island the way they were taught to slowly, honestly, and with respect for the people who let you in.

How we work

  1. Local first, always

Every guide on every trip is from the region they show you. Not a contractor flown in for the season. The relationships are the whole point.

  2. Slowly, on purpose

A two-week journey with us covers what a tour bus does in five days. Time to sit with what you see — and time to change your mind about what comes next.

  3. Heritage, not theatre

We work with caretakers and historians, not staged shows. The places you visit are still living rooms, still working temples, still family farms.

  4. Built for one trip

Nothing is recycled. Each itinerary is drafted from your inquiry — your interests, your pace, your appetite for the unexpected.

In numbers

Built quietly, over many returns.
